• Kentuck Festival of Arts, held on the third weekend in October, has become one of the South's most prestigious and recognized arts and crafts festivals. The festival draws over 200 of the nation's top artisans and craftsmen and over 25,000 visitors.

• Dickens Christmas, usually the first Tuesday evening in December, is an annual family-filled Christmas experience in downtown Northport providing a traditional old-fashioned holiday treat.

• Christmas Afloat is held annually on the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa and features holiday-lighted boats and watercraft.

• West Alabama Christmas Parade - usually the first Monday in December in downtown Tuscaloosa, is West Alabama's largest holiday parade. Expect floats, costumes and group entries with plenty of holiday spirit.

• Heritage Week is held each April. The week-long event draws people from throughout the South to Tuscaloosa's beautiful antebellum and historic homes and sites, along with many related activities.

• July Jubilee, July 4th in downtown Tuscaloosa, is West Alabama's largest Independence Day event. It includes live and patriotic music, activities for the kids and fireworks.

•Other events throughout the year fill the entertainment agenda of residents and visitors in Tuscaloosa County. Alabama Crimson Tide football weekends (visit www.uagameday.com  for more info), Stillman College football weekends, and a host of other activities complete the menu.
